GENCON Tournament Notes
The first GENCON tournament is two weeks away. Here is what you need to know to compete.
- Each round will be a standard game: 7000 build points, 8 order points per turn (4 for the ambush turn), and 21 victory points to win. Custom cards are allowed.
- Rounds will be timed at 90 minutes. Stalling will be punished by an automatic loss.
- If your opponent concedes or you eliminate your opponent's army, it automatically increases your victory points to 21.
- The scenario for the first round will be the Valley of Honor. See the Range Combat Rematch Report for an example of a game played in this scenario.
- During the middle rounds, the control terrain will be fixed, but each player gets to place two standard terrain items from those provided at the table.
- During the last round, each player gets to place a control terrain item plus two standard terrain items from those provided at the table.
- The winner of a round is determined by number of victory points, then number of build points killed. If both armies are eliminated, the active player during the last action is the winner. If there is a tie, the player with the most surviving build points is the winner.
- Scoring for the tournament is by number of wins followed by number of victory points. If there is a tie, an additional final playoff round will be scheduled.
- You cannot change your army between rounds in a particular tournament.
Everyone who plays all rounds of a tournament will get a single free Ballista or Dragon. The top three winners of each tournament will get painted figure army packs.
Please also consider coming to the open play events on Sunday. The participation bonus will be a free booster pack, and you'll be able to play with exotic terrain and special scenarios if you wish.
