Great One
« Go backThe Slavs of Eastern Europe were transformed in greater percentages by the Night of Mists than in most other places around the world. Most were turned into the squat, sturdy dvergar, but a small portion morphed into massive Great Ones instead. While every transformation from human to other was traumatic, the Great Ones underwent excruciating pain. As their bodies bubbled and expanded with slabs of muscle and growths of bone, their minds went in the opposite direction, causing madness and reduced intelligence in the vast majority of victims. One particular Great One, named Bogomir Litvinov, was mysteriously spared the worst of this mental anguish and retained both his wits and his personality. Litvinov did his best to help his friends, family and kinsmen survive both their physical transition and the inevitable attacks by the frightened and confused humans that were left behind. Bogomir Litvinov made his case strongly that these were still the people they loved, and now the Great Ones once again are fully accepted as strong, proud members of the Slavs.
Great Ones stand 10 feet tall and almost as wide. They cover their brutish figures with thick layers of furs and pelts, some simply torn from the animals and draped on their shoulders without additional tailoring. Great Ones typically wield thick branches or logs that have been run through with old swords, daggers, spear tips and the like to create massive and lethal implements of destruction.
