Slavic Shieldwall
« Go backThe Slavic shieldwall is the ultimate defensive golem developed by the dvergar. Lovingly crafted, painstakingly maintained and imbued with the highest level of intelligence yet gifted to an automaton, it is rumored that one of these ornate guardians protects each entrance to the massive underground stronghold that connects the Slavs’ numerous mountain villages. A small formation of these can be leased—never sold—for an exorbitant sum to powerful leaders who need protection on the battlefield. The Slavs like to brag that no one under a shield wall's care has ever died in battle.
Like other golems, the Slavic shieldwall possesses a hulking, hunchbacked frame. Its overly long arms lack hands, which are replaced with huge, immensely thick shields capable of withstanding blows from even small siege engines. Though their long legs seem spindly and weak, cunning pistons imbued with clever magic keep the Slavic shieldwall rooted in place if it so chooses. When required, the golem can curl into a tight ball, wrapping its shields around its frame to make it almost completely invulnerable to harm. When given orders to protect a location or person, the Slavic shieldwall makes the ultimate bodyguard, ever vigilant and capable of springing into action at a moment’s notice.
