Sword Golem
« Go backA relatively recent invention, the sword golem was developed by the dvergar to serve as a ferocious, yet expendable, shock trooper to bolster their expanding range of battle-ready automatons. Based on the same chassis as the shield golem, the most notable difference is the inclusion of two additional arms, each of which wields a short, brutal sword. Designed for use in a single battle (or several light engagements), the sword golem lacks the heavy armor plates of its shield golem cousin, making it nimbler but more prone to taking sustained damage.
This suits the makers just fineāthe sword golem is pointed into battle and expected to inflict massive casualties before ultimately being destroyed. It lacks the ability of deductive reasoning, but makes up for it with single-minded determination and pure, unadulterated viciousness. The forges of the dvergar churn out hundreds of these golems each year and are constantly on the search for ways to reduce costs while increasing lethality. As a result, sword golems cost considerably less than shield golems but do not come with a warranty. The dvergar merely point to the effectiveness and sheer brutality of the automaton in battle to quash unreasonable haggling over the price.
