Cursed Spearman
« Go backIn their time beneath the sands some of the undead decayed more than others, and are not fit to carry a khopesh in pursuit of Egypt’s enemies. They also serve, however, who wait and defend. The undead spearmen of the Egyptian undead legions are among the most stalwart and powerful of the Empire’s defensive troops. Several legions move with Antony’s army, providing security and defense.
While Antony and Amunhotep pursue the Empire’s enemies in Rome, the undead spearmen in the home legions provide Cleopatra and the Egyptian capital a strong bulwark against outside aggression. The Hands of Osiris that lead these legions are adept at placing their near-mindless charges in the best locations to stop any attack, and when faced with foes trapped in position, such as during sieges, the stolid advance of an undead pike square is all but unbeatable.
No undead soldier ever displays initiative, but the undead infantryman is capable of single-minded attacks and slaughter. The strength of the spearman is defense. All of the undead legions are blindingly loyal but the undead spearmen are like rocks—when faced with overwhelming numbers they stand. When hacked at the knees they lean, and so long as a hand grasps a haft the undead spearman is attempting to kill his enemy. Cleopatra has been known to organize duels between them as a training exercise for the Hands of Osiris. Since they can regenerate from damage, undead spearmen make excellent training dummies.
