Description
The Greeks have long favored the spear in combat, not only because of its reach and versatility when used alongside a shield, but also because it becomes an effective ranged weapon very easily. Their range is not nearly as great as a bow, but a group of hoplites is far better equipped to follow up a successful ranged attack with a devastating charge than any unit of archers in the world.
