Description
Before the Night of Mists, legionaries were the foundation of the Roman legion. With new creatures flooding the lands, however, Roman tacticians were forced to reevaluate their defensive capabilities. Hearing of the dvergar and their mastery of metallurgy and mechanism, Augustus sent emissaries to bring back their knowledge. The result is the lorica maximus, a powerful suit of magical, steam-driven armor that gives the legionary within it incredible strength and total protection. In battle, these massive soldiers carry two spathas and rely on their nearly impenetrable armor for protection rather than a shield.
